Background

TQPR was appointed to launch Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia’s first purpose-built business events venue. From the start, the objective was not just to introduce the venue, but to position KLCC as a leading business events destination with stronger long-term visibility in the market.

As competition increased, the communications challenge expanded beyond launch awareness into maintaining share of voice, strengthening industry positioning, and building more sustained relevance across media, stakeholders, and the wider business events ecosystem.

Idea

TQPR approached the account through ongoing, comprehensive PR support rather than one-off announcements. The strategy combined launch activities such as groundbreakings, venue tours, media FAM trips, and events with regular media releases tied to industry trends and continuous interview pitching.

The programme also included weekly business intelligence reports, full-spectrum copywriting and editorial support, crisis preparedness, real-time media liaison, and continued support for trade shows, FAM trips, and industry bodies such as BECM and MyCEB.

This helped keep KLCC visible not only as a venue, but as an active and credible player within Malaysia’s business events landscape.
